Expanding the curriculum

Expanding the curriculum

The problem is that sex ed coveres such a small area of topics related to sexual development and education. Instead of only vaguely talking about reproduction, STD-s and maybe protection, we should cover more topics. SOME examples would be consent, the connection between mental health and sex, sexualities, elevating stigma making it less of a taboo topic of conversation. Also an idea would be for classrooms to have a question submission box and to make a web site for easy access to info and FAQ.

The website is a good idea.

I like the idea, it explains a big problem in education not only in Croatia but everywhere. I think making it a seperate subject would be even better, and the submission box is a great idea if anonymous. We think implementing such would be a great step in the right direction.

We agree that even where there is sex ed it covers such small things. It should be more about consent that the actual sex. It should also teach people more about how important protection is and none of it should be considered taboo.

It’s a really interesting idea to have submission box for questions that kids are too afraid to ask since sex is still such a taboo topic. It is a great idea to make it a subject in schools because it will become an integral part of life and further help with destigmatization.
